About Me

Sylvie Scythe is a performer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ that has been performing in the underground New Orleans scene for 10+ years. Initially serving as guitarist for the original line-up of Deadsled Funeral Company in 2016, Sylvie quickly began forming and joining projects at a staggering rate. Sylvie then formed Cervix Couch; a spooky gothrock trio, and composed the majority of their first record "Kharon". Sylvie then joined Death Church; a goth punk group while simultaneously forming Come to Ruin with fellow musician Mange Vorhees. While still juggling the projects, Sylvie participated in the project Handsome Phantoms with former Deadsled bandmate Boneghazi during the pandemic. Following the pandemic, Cervix Couch went on indefinite hiatus. Sylvie quickly filled the time with yet more projects. Joining the local industrial band Livernois on guitar, and starting a two piece vampwave band with local musician Velvet Spade. Sylvie had so engrained themselves into the scene that on just one day of a local goth festival called Dark City Fest, they performed as various roles in 6 different local bands. When Sylvie is not recording, writing, rehearsing, and playing shows, they carve out a life DJing goth nights and running sound for various drag & burlesque shows around their beloved home of New Orleans.
